    How the conversion works

    Three steps. The dose used below is arbitrary, chosen only to show the arithmetic:

    1. 1. Concentration

      Vial amount ÷ water added. A 2 mg vial with 2 mL of water is 1 mg/mL.

    2. 2. Volume per dose

      Your dose ÷ concentration. A 0.1 mg dose at 1 mg/mL is 0.1 mL.

    3. 3. Units to draw

      Volume per dose × 100 for a U-100 syringe (or × 40 for a U-40). 0.1 mL on a U-100 syringe is 10 units.

    Worked example

    You have a 2 mg vial, you want a 100 mcg dose, and you add 2 mL of bacteriostatic water. Concentration is 2 ÷ 2 = 1 mg/mL. Volume per dose is 0.1 ÷ 1 = 0.1 mL. On a U-100 syringe that's 0.1 × 100 = 10 units, and the vial holds 20 doses.

    CJC-1295 is sold in two forms that behave completely differently. The DAC version carries an albumin-binding group that extends its half-life to roughly a week; the version without DAC — often labelled modified GRF (1-29) — clears in minutes. Both are routinely labelled simply 'CJC-1295'.

    The reconstitution arithmetic is identical either way, since concentration does not care about pharmacokinetics. What differs is everything downstream, so it is worth knowing which one is in front of you before you plan anything around it.
